The reason why i keep falling for all the wrong men is because I want a rough ‘thuggish’ type of guy (a hard core boyfriend) I stay with a guy that isn’t right because I just can’t imagine my life without him and it seems like I need him in my life.My guy doesn’t remind me of neither of my parents. In every relationship that i have been in I fall for the same guy which is about eight or nine times.
First you need to define what a thug means to you. Somebody who is in trouble with the law? Somebody who abuses you verbally or physically. Somebody who is bossy and controlling? Then figure out why these traits are so appealing to you.You say your boyfriend isn’t like either of your parents. Are you sure? If you list his traits and then list your parents’ traits, I’d be surprised to learn that there aren’t similarities.You also mentioned that you feel you can’t live without your thug. This sounds like you have dependency issues–i. e. that you can’t stand on your own two feet. You need to figure out where your feeling that you can’t be on your own comes from. Were you abandoned or neglected as a kid? If so, that would explain why you would feel that you need a strong person to lean on.Likewise, if you were raised by tough parents who took charge of you, you may have never learned to stand on your own.
