As a child, I had no problems falling asleep. Now, I become exhausted after 3 days because of the inability to fall asleep. I have suffered with insomnia for at least 20 years. I have no stamina to speak of and would feel so much better if I could get away from benzodiazepines to fall to sleep. Even with the pills, I wake up 2-3 times each night.I also have Degenerative Disk Disease and have prayed for several years for healing for both problems. I’ve also been told that there are ‘faith-healers’ but do not know where to find one.I would so much appreciate some advice, this is affecting my relationship with my wife.
I hear how much you are suffering.I am sure we can get to the bottom of your problem and resolve it. The key to solving your problem is to understand that insomnia is a symptom of another health concern, just the way pus is a symptom of an infection. The drugs you are taking are masking the symptom, but doing nothing to solve the problem. Plus, over time, the body becomes adapted to the drugs and they become less and less effective, which is why you are waking up despite taking sleeping pills. In order to uncover and cure the underlying health problems, I suggest you consult ACAM (www. acam. org) to find a list of alternative health practitioners in your region. You want to find an osteopath or medical doctor who specializes in complementary medicine.Alternative doctors often run diagnostic tests that conventional western doctors don’t use. For example, they may examine your saliva, stool and/or urine to obtain a broader picture of your overall health. An alternative doctor should be able to find out the underlying causes of your insomnia. There are many possible causes such as toxicity, hormone imbalances (for ex: low adrenal function), blood sugar imbalances, and brain chemistry imbalances (depression, anxiety, etc), infections, and pain from your disc problems, to name just a few. When the underlying causes are found, the doctor will work to resolve these concerns. I wouldn’t rule out the use of alternative therapies and faith healers.Energy medicine, acupuncture, polarity, Reiki, chiropractic, kinesiology, NET, NAET, and Body Talk are just a few of the many alternative therapies available. First get a diagnosis so we know what you’re dealing with. Then you can add alternative therapies to your healing regime.I see you sleeping like a baby very soon!
